Reporting
No scanning. You decide what to report.
The principle
Pigeon doesn't scan, read or classify your messages, so abuse only reaches us when someone in a conversation chooses to report it. You send only what you choose.
How to report
Email abuse@pigeonmessage.io with what happened, who sent it (their handle, if they have one) and when. Don't send images of child sexual abuse: describe what you saw and where, and we'll tell you what to do next.
You can report, among others, spam or scams, harassment or hate, child safety, threats and violence, illegal goods, sexual or intimate content shared without consent, impersonation, and copyright; the full list is on the security page. What happens next is in the acceptable use policy.
Messages that can be checked
Every message carries a cryptographic commitment to its own content (message franking). If it doesn't check out, Pigeon hides it, so a sender can't show you one thing and anyone else another.
Just don't want to see it?
Block the sender. Blocking tells nobody anything.
