Groups

No admins. Every change is seen by everyone.

Members

• Any member can add or remove members, and every change is shown to the whole group.
• You can leave a group at any time.
• Members always see when a device leaves the group.
• Each of your devices is a full member in its own right.

The security overview

Each group has a Show security alerts in this group switch, off by default. The group's overview lists every member and device, and whether each has the switch on, so nobody's choice is hidden from the others. The alerts come from the trusted circle.

Encryption

A group is encrypted with MLS, the open standard for group messaging (RFC 9420). One-to-one chats are groups of two, so they get exactly the same protection.
